I hope Roxio support learns something with us.

I love you man! Thanks for the hint regarding Windows Movie Maker. Jim, we gave another big step for us and for human kind: with Windows Movie Maker and using Roxio VHS to DVD hardware, in same conditions, there is NO FLICKERING!! So, the problem is the Roxio software, not the hardware. I guess that is the problem with this Roxio Easy VHS to DVD soft/hardware set !!!! At least I already gave an important step (for me and human kind): there's one or another VHS cassette with what no flickering happens during capturing!!!!Īnyhow, it's a Roxio limitation and I already suggested them to issue SP3 for this Roxio stuff with what I hope there will not be misinterpretation of video signals (low/high quality is always subjective but electronics should be above subjectivity, don't you think so?). "Flickering" is typical of A/V readers not able to (or not wanting to) read protected signals (audio or video).

I keep investigating this malfunction and I am now taking serious what one of the guys said here about "protected videos" and the possibility of Roxio taking some VHS video signals (composite) as protected images !!!!! I am using SP2, of course, and after reading the "improvements" done on SP2 I am now almost convinced that Roxio software takes some VHS videos (probably the ones taken as low-quality) as protected videos.

I have seen one person who plugged their PC into another outlet and found the answerĪre you working for Roxio? Just beacuse that part of "volunteers" was intended to classify Roxio support, not the good guys coming up here.Īnyhow, I'm sure my problem is not SCART or the cable itself because I use it on another computer, on another capture card and it works fine. I have run this device on 3 PC’s and have yet to see any ‘flicker’. (this is to rule out other interference during tests and may be extended later) Also keep your wire runs short a meter or so max.
Since you have XP try doing a test capture in Windows Movie Maker.Īnd try skipping the SCART and hooking directly to a RCA source, like the back of a TV Output. You didn’t mention what V2D Service Pack you have installed. Most likely it isn’t going to run on a Laptop as they just don’t have the hardware to do video. But most of use are US and have never seen a SCART!
Yes we are all volunteers here and yes we do know quite a bit about the software and the device. Now, can anyone tell me why can't I have video capturing with Roxio Easy VHS to DVD without flickering? I would appreciate because I spent 60 US dollars plus shipment expenses and it is to soon to consider them a waste. I've a good enough hardware configuration: normally 4GB DDR, Intel Core Duo CPU around 2.4GHz (depends on the computer but they are quite similar), graphics card with quite enough memory (128M, 256M) not shared, bla, bla, bla. I've installed Roxio Easy VHS to DVD over Windows XP SP3 and video flickering happens in all computers I have tried: a Toshiba laptop, an LG laptop and a "white" desktop.
no, Roxio support doesn't help at all !! I guess they are volunteers who know nothing about Roxio soft or hardware

yes I'm using a SCART to RCA cable to connect a Sony VCR to the Roxio hardware and I guess either the Roxio driver or the hardware is the problem yes, I have tried with another capturing device (Conexant analog PCI card) and there is not any flickering at all yes, video flickers when capturing with Roxio Easy VHS to DVD but the VHS tape is fine Hi guys, I'm glad I'm not the only one having this problem.
